Public Works

The City of Evansville Department of Public Works (DPW) is a division of the larger Municipal Services Department.  The DPW performs the jetting of sewer lines, operation of the Waste Water Treatment Plant, trimming and removal of trees in the parking or terrace, fall leaf collection, brush pick up, road patching, snow plowing, stormwater maintenance, park maintenance, and facility maintenance.  


The department is dedicated to providing efficient service to maintain costs and maintain our existing infrastructure.  Much of the department's focus is in the repair and maintenance of our existing structure be it playground equipment, roads, sewer lines or city buildings. The yard / waste drop-off site will be open to the city residents at no charge (and non-city residents with a payable permit) for disposal from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm Wednesday nights and Saturdays from 9:00 am-2:30 pm starting on Saturday, April 4th, 2020.

All winter decorations must be removed by April 15th at 3:30 p.m. Any decorations not removed by this date are subject to immediate removal and will be discarded. Heavy concrete or ceramic urns or pots, along with Shepard's hooks, must be cleaned off, but may be left in place. No new decor, other than fresh cut flowers, may be placed on any graves until four (4) days before Memorial Day at 3:30 p.m. Decorations placed on graves after this date must be removed by Veteran's Day. All decorations must be in a pot, vase, or on an approved upright support.
