Public Works Foreperson - City of Evansville

The City of Evansville is accepting résumés for the position of Public Works Foreperson within the Municipal Services Department.  This is a full-time position.  The Public Works Foreperson is a “working foreperson” and supervises and assists employees in operations, maintenance, and construction of Public Works including street maintenance, snow removal, sanitary sewer and wastewater treatment, stormwater, equipment maintenance, cemetery and park maintenance.

Applicants should place ethical conduct, integrity and respect for the public trust as their top priority.  The ability to communicate both verbally and written is a requirement.  Applicants must be knowledgeable in proper and safe operation of equipment including, but not limited to the following: trucks, sewer jetter, plows, sanders, backhoes, skid loader, test equipment, and personal protection equipment.  Knowledge of regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, DWD and DNR) is helpful.  Experience using computer software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), GIS and more is preferred and will be ultimately required.

Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).  Must be able to lift 60 pounds occasionally.  A DMV background check, drug test and a pre-employment physical exam will be required.
