This accreditation is prestigious and requires an on-site assessment every three years. On May 1, 2017, the Evansville police department again was granted a 3 year re-accreditation through the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG).

The Rock County Communications Center dispatches the City of Evansville Police Department including 911 emergency service. The center provides 24-hour dispatching services for all law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies in Rock County. The Rock County Communication Center is the only Public Safety Communication Center in the United States to have achieved its fifth 3-year Accreditation by CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies).
