The City of Evansville Municipal Court represents the judicial branch of government and provides a neutral setting for resolving alleged City ordinance violations. We provide friendly and efficient service to all court users, keeping in mind legal and ethical requirements.
The Municipal Court provides a neutral forum for hearing City Ordinance cases, where the penalty includes a forfeiture, including both traffic and non-traffic cases involving adults (generally age 17 and over) and juveniles (generally age 12-16). This Court has jurisdiction to hear all ordinance violations alleged to have occurred within in the City of Evansville and the Town of Union.
Initial appearances, where you enter a plea to the charges levied against you, are heard on the second Saturday of every month starting at 8:00 a.m. Trial appearances, are conducted when necessary on the last Wednesday of every month starting at 6:00 p.m.; there are no trials scheduled in December.
The courtroom is on the 3rd floor of the City Hall building.
